Little Luminaries

A creative learning studio for kids ages 5–7. Little Luminaries build confidence and curiosity through art, sensory play, story-led making, and hands-on exploration.

Overview

Little Luminaries introduces children to a creative studio where their ideas matter. Small pods, gentle rituals, and a spiral three-journey curriculum help each child grow at their own pace.

Learning outcomes

  • Notice and describe what they see in the world.
  • Use hands, tools, and materials with confidence and care.
  • Tell a story through a drawing, a build, or a hand-made object.
  • Work alongside a small pod and celebrate each other's work.

Skills developed

  • Observation and looking
  • Color, pattern, and simple composition
  • Fine motor precision and tool safety
  • Language for describing making and feeling
  • Cooperation and turn-taking
  • Reflection on their own process

Each journey runs across Fall and Spring semesters with the same learning outcomes and fresh studio projects.

Frequently asked questions

My child is 6 — where do they start?

Every new Little Luminary begins at Journey One, regardless of age within the 5–7 window. Journey One introduces the studio, tools, and creative habits so children build a strong foundation.

What if my 5-year-old has never taken an art class?

Perfect. Little Luminaries assumes no prior art or craft experience. We use looking games, sensory building, and story-led making to open the door to creative learning.

How long is a session?

Ninety minutes, once a week, in a semester-based cohort of no more than 12 children.

Ready to see it in person?

Bring your child to a Discovery Day and try a hands-on lab before you enroll.
