- Design thinking — observing, sketching, prototyping, iterating.
- Maker skills — safe tool use, building, printing, fiber, clay, and mixed media.
- Problem solving — real challenges with materials, constraints, and creative decisions.
- Collaboration and leadership — pod work, showing progress, giving and receiving feedback.
- Confidence and voice — presenting work at showcase nights and family field missions.
How programs are structured
Sessions run in a spiral curriculum across Fall and Spring semesters. Same learning outcomes, different studio projects — so children can start any semester and keep growing.
Frequently asked questions
What ages do your creative classes for kids serve?
Luminaries serves children ages 5–10 across two cohorts: Little Luminaries (5–7) and Rising Luminaries (8–10). Each cohort has its own three-journey creative arc built for the age group.
Are these art classes, STEAM classes, or something different?
Both, and more. Every session blends art, design thinking, STEAM, problem solving, and hands-on making — so children build creative range, not a single skill.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes. Discovery Days are open-studio previews where children try a hands-on lab before enrolling. They run on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
How large are the classes?
Pods cap at 12 children with a 1:6 leader-to-child ratio, so every child gets meaningful attention and a real role in the project.
